LOCATION:
Situated on the banks of the Rufiji River in the
Selous Game Reserve, Sand Rivers offers a unique
combination of adventure, comfort and exclusivity.
Situated in the north of the Reserve, Sand Rivers’
concession area provides exclusive entry to one of
the most interesting and varied eco-zones of the
Selous. The area contains one of the few remaining
populations of black rhino and provides the
exhilarating opportunity of tracking them on foot.
DESCRIPTION:
Condé Nast Traveller described the Selous
as ‘wild Africa at its rugged best’ and ‘a far cry
from most African game parks’. Created by safari
legend Richard Bonham, Sand Rivers is deemed one
of the most captivating lodges in Africa.

Each room is open-fronted with an expansive v
erandah set on stilts, giving stunning private
views of the river.and a spacious bathroom, with
hot water powered by solar energy
